In August, 2014 year was started the 6-th contest for students of Educational Institutions of Ukraine «Intel-Techno Ukraine” – the national stage of international contest for scientific and technical creativity of schoolchildren Intel ISEF (International Science and Engineering Fair, further on a Contest).
Contest categories: Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, Computer Science, Engineering and Energetics. In August, 2014 year was started the 6-th competition for students of Educational Institutions of Ukraine «Intel-Techno Ukraine” – the national stage of international competition in scientific and technical creativity of schoolchildren Intel ISEF (International Science and Engineering Fair, further on a Contest).

Since 2014 year a Contest has become one of the components of the Third Ukrainian Festival of innovative projects the «Sikorsky Challenge».

The objective of a Contest is a full support of talented youth of Ukraine in promotion of energizing and improvement of the content of research, search activity, experimental and practical activities of adherent youth, implementation of innovative educational methods and technologies into the educational process.

International Contest of Scientific and Technical creativity of schoolchildren Intel ISEF is the World’s largest contest of Research projects of high school students, young scientists and engineers. World Intel ISEF finals are held annually in May in one of the USA cities.

The Winners of the National stage of a Contest will get a possibility to present their projects at the World Intel ISEF finals from 10 to 15 May of 2015 year in the city Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania, USA). Works of finals members will grade the scientists with a world reputation, including – Nobel Prize winners.

Titular sponsor of the Intel ISEF starting from 1996 year is a World known corporation Intel. Now this Contest is one of the largest educational initiatives of the corporation.

National Contest in 2014-2015 academic year is carried out in three stages:

● Stage I (correspondence): 1 August – 30 September of 2014 year – registration and selection of participants on the basis of submitted abstracts;

● Stage II (full-time): 14 – 17 October of 2014 year – poster protection of scientific papers in the format of interviews with the jury; determining the winners, prize-winners and winners of super finals;

● Stage III (final): November 2014 year – February 2015 year – super finals members do completion of their own projects.

February 20, 2015 year – announcement of delegation to travel to the World Finals.

Each year participants of worldwide finals Contest are more than 1600 of the best young scientists and inventors who represent 75 countries. At the Contest they demonstrate innovative research projects, exchange ideas and compete for numerous prestigious awards, prizes and scholarships.

The prize fund of more than US $ 4 million spent on awards for first, second third and fourth places (in total about 600 prizes) in each category (3000, 1500, 1000 and $ 500, respectively), and also special awards.

Intel ISEF finals participants are selected annually worldwide basing on the results of more than 550 affiliated Contests (regional or national stages), at which take part around 65000 students, and the number of such Contests and their participants is growing every year. Overall, the number of participants, from the local to the national level, is now several million people. Each affiliated regional or national Contest must meet the highest international scientific and technical and also organizational requirements.

Among the members of the scientific jury All-Ukrainian Contest – are leading scientists and educators from Scientific and Educational Institutions of Ukraine (Institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, NTUU “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and others), as well as well-known young scientists. In determining of the winners the jury members evaluate not only the scientific level of projects, but also those features that increase the chances of winning the Intel ISEF, including presentation and communication skills of the contestants, logical thinking, proficiencies in a English language, independence and completeness of projects.

This year to participate in full-time stage are invited participants from 18 regions of Ukraine, AR Crimea and city Kiev. Totally was accepted 151 project, of them in categories: Mathematics – 9, Physics and Astronomy – 27, Computer Science – 34, Engineering – 54, Energetics – 27.

The Contest is held under the patronage of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, with the support of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Main Directorate of Education and Science of city Kyiv.

Coordinator of the National Contest stage – the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” – is one of the largest educational institutions at European Continent, a powerful Scientific, Educational, Cultural, youth center of the country. Conducting the Contest for young Scientists of the country – is another step towards improving the Scientific potential of Ukraine, to intensify Scientific and Science-creative activity of schoolchildren, early vocational-guidance of pupil youth.
